I am most famous amongst those closest to me for having a true love of the movies. I love them A LOT…almost to a point of hilarity. It is this love of movies that has made me famous for asking one specific question of those nearest and dearest to me. It is a question of great import and one that more often than not leads to a rant on my part.
“You haven’t SEEN that yet?”
It often comes out of my mouth with an ever so subtle hint of “What is the matter with you? Do you not understand that it is paramount to your well being as an intelligent human that you see this movie?”
Unfortunately I am one of THOSE movie watchers. I watch movies fully aware of the fact that I am developing a strong and unwavering opinion that I will most likely push onto others with little regard for their opinions and feelings regarding my favorite flicks.
I enjoy talking about movies. I have a great time taking them in on a personal level, but I literally relish the opportunity to fill you in on what it is I thought about each of the actor’s abilities, each plot point’s opportunity to reel you in or set you adrift amongst the rapids that is bad filmmaking, and whether or not the dialogue made you melt, laugh, or want to hang yourself from your chandelier. It is with my great love for movie watching that I tend to overwhelm those around me and it is with great luck that I happen to be sharing this unfortunate quirk of mine with Brenda, our Communiculturalist here at Aperion Audio. She had great advice for me. She said, “Write it down. Start a blog!”
“What a brilliant idea,” I thought. “From here on out I shall have to call her Brainda!”
So here I am, taking this opportunity to share my thoughts with the world regarding some of the not so new, albeit fantastic movies of the not so distant past! And like so many sheep in a large, unaccounted for herd, I have joined the ranks of the blogging community.
If you’re perusing my blog expecting to find thoughts on the latest blockbuster or new release ala the unfortunately titled, “Daddy Day Camp,” or the ever so appropriately named, “I Know Who Killed Me.”… *enter Lindsey Lohan shudder here*… I am sorry but you will be sorely disappointed. If what you are looking for is a suggestion for a Friday evening at home with a bowl of popcorn, American sized soda and a golden oldie of sorts then THIS is the blog to watch!
Tune in next week for the first on Heather’s “YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THAT YET?” List.
P.S. I want to know what you love to watch. Feel free to rant back. I’m not entirely one sided.
